Turkmen president congratulates Medvedev on inauguration
MOSCOW. May 8 (Interfax) - Turkmen President Gurbanguly
Berdimuhammedow congratulated Russian President Dmitry Medvedev on his
inauguration and wished him every success in this high office, the
presidents spoke on the phone following a Turkmen initiative, the
Kremlin said.
The presidents noted intensification of Russian-Turkmen relations
in various areas recently and they said they were sure of their
progressive development.
"Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedow invited the Russian president to visit
Turkmenistan. The invitation was accepted with gratitude, and they
agreed to negotiate concrete conditions by diplomatic channels," the
Kremlin said.
Berdimuhammedow confirmed his intention to participate in the
International Economic Forum to be held in St. Petersburg on June 6-8.
"The presidents congratulated each other and the Turkmen and
Russian peoples on the anniversary of the Great Victory [in the Second
World War]," it said.
