The Interfax Corporate News Agency offers Russia's largest company database, the System of Professional Analysis of Markets and Companies (known by its Russian acronym, SPARK), which has brought together for the first time official information on over 2 million legal entities operating in Russia.

Interfax Corporate News Agency specialists have developed this efficient, state-of-the-art system to provide comprehensive informational services and analytical tools to Russian and foreign clients.

SPARK is the largest database of its kind in Russia, offering information on almost all of the legal entities registered in this country.

The database contains all available official information on Russian companies, based on data from the Federal Financial Markets Service, state statistics services, tax organizations and the companies themselves.

SPARK also offers unique analytical capabilities, with pre-set formulas for quick calculations of key financial indicators as well as the capacity  to input your own formulas.

 Financial Market Surveys 

The Interfax Center for Economic Analysis, established in 1995, analyzes the economies of Russia and the other countries of the former Soviet Union, as well as the countries' financial markets, banks and insurance companies. It publishes ratings and the weekly analytical reports "Banking and Finance" and "Central Asia and Caucasus Business Report." Interfax CEA staff also issue financial and stock market forecasts and compile analytical surveys for the Interfax Group's industry publications.

Interfax-100 Rankings

The Center for Economic Analysis is one of the most authoritative structures assigning rankings  to economic entities in Russia. All of the rankings  are consolidated into an integral product line organized using an innovative approach and released under the Interfax-100 brand. The following rankings are issued regularly:

Interfax-100 Analytical and Statistical Survey of the Banking System

 Published since 1994 in Russian and English, on a quarterly basis. Contains analysis and forecasting of the main trends in Russia's banking sector.

More than 20 tables provide the key indicators for banks in the Russian Federation as of the reporting dates: January 1, April 1, July 1 and October 1. The indicators include banks' asset structure, liabilities, earnings and expenditures, the changes from the start of the year, short-term interbank loans, quality indexes and credit portfolio diversity and compliance with prudential regulations such as capital ratios and liquidity.

Interfax-100 Analytical and Statistical Survey of the Insurance Sector

 Published twice annually since 1997. Contains analysis of over 150 of the largest insurance companies in Russia, the current situation on the Russian insurance market and the main market trends.

 The survey consists of two parts: more than 50 pages of analytical commentary and 45 statistical tables.

The analytical commentary contains:

  • Analysis of the macroeconomic situation in Russia
  • Analysis of the regulatory framework of the Russian insurance market
  • Discussion of market leaders in various segments of the Russian insurance market
  • Analysis of changes in the premium structure of the largest Russian insurers
  • Analysis of the structure of assets and liabilities, as well as earnings and expenditures of Russia's largest insurers

Interfax-1000 Rankings

The Interfax Center for Economic Analysis (Interfax-CEA) has launched the publication of a new series of analytical and statistical surveys under the Interfax-1000 brand, which for the first time enables a comparison of all major banks in Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and other CIS countries in terms of asset value and other financial indicators.

The survey contains key business indicators of commercial banks in 10 CIS countries: Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Moldova.

The indicators include assets, capital, credit portfolio and funds raised according to financial statements compiled according to the national standards of 1,000 CIS banks as of the reporting date of the survey.

The survey is highly representative, as it covers over 60% of all banks operating in CIS countries. It also contains a brief description of the banking systems in the 10 CIS countries.

The survey is published in Russian and in English biannually as of July 1 (first-half results) and January 1 (yearly results).

Interfax-1000. CIS Insurance Companies

The Interfax-1000: CIS Insurance Companies analytical and statistical survey provides key parameters of insurance companies’ operations in eight countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States: Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia and Uzbekistan.

It offers the reader information about premium collection and insurance payouts by 1,000 CIS insurance companies for the periods under review. Representation is sufficiently high, as more than half of the insurance companies active on the CIS market are listed. The survey has a brief description of the insurance systems common in countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

 The survey is published twice a year and offers information as of July 1 (results for the first half of the year) and January 1 (results of the second half).

Moody's Interfax Rating Agency

 Moody's Interfax Rating Agency specializes in the assessment of credit risks in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States, including the assessment of the creditworthiness and liabilities of financial institutions, regional administrations and non-financial enterprises.
